Rich dad, poor dad
Inspiring you to achieve financial independence
Let money work for you
Looking into my bank account I need to make some serious money fast. Whenever I have worked more than one job and got money, I have always found I have nothing to show for it at the end of the month. Indeed like this month, I am worse off than I was with a smaller amount of money.
This is one of the first lessons of the rich dad which most people do not understand, as they always work for money rather than letting money work for them. I agree, my plan like most people's has been to work hard get a good education so I can get a good, well-paid job.
The importance of education
I am a nurse I studied Business Studies and economics at A'level when but decided to move away from this when I studied Theology at university.
My driving force has always been people, the needs of others usually at the detriment of myself. Money has never been of interest to me. At the age of 44 and in debt my mind has been opened by this book. Getting a proper education on money and how to make it work for me. This appears to be the best education you need before you go ahead and start a business as in 'The power of broke.'
I am keen to learn. This learning is also about how life pushes you around, you have the choice either to sit down and accept it, get angry and blame someone else or get angry and do something about it. It is easier to change yourself than someone else. In the story, the boys are being paid 10 cents per hour.
Think with your head and not your emotions. Intelligence will make you money.
The three management skills are
1. Management of cash flow.
2. Management of business systems.
3. Management of people
The most important specialist skills are sales and marketing.
I plan to start building assets. This is going to take time as I have very little to invest, but the sooner I start the faster I will achieve financial independence and no longer need a job.
I'll keep you all posted on how I get on and hopefully inspire and help you to achieve the same.
Take Care
