Yoga and time for me

A lot has happened in the past week but something I'm trying to do is spend more time for me. Sadly eating a good diet still eludes me, as chocolate seems so alluring when I'm stressed. However one thing at a time.

Tara Stiles is a name I have known for a long time. She is a yoga instructor. But don't get to stressed out with different instructors. You just need to follow a basic yoga routine.

 Managing my time better!

Using the pomodoro technique recommended by a friend Adrienne Adele Cox @adrienneadelee has helped me focus my mind on study in small 25 minute chunks. This has increased the amount of work I have got done. I finally completed my level 3 in Employment law and studied for my taxi exam the other day. This is big stuff for me. Visualisation Your driving through some beautiful countryside. You stioover to admire the view in front of this beautiful cottage. You walk up to the door. There is a note on it which says "This cottage is for you to use for as long as you need it." You walk inside and sit down on a comfortable chair right in front of a beautiful big window overlooking that beautiful view. This just gives you an idea. The rest of the thought is yours. Go and enjoy the cottage, it is a safe place for you to rest and relax. While your relaxing you could also think about the things you want in your life. (e.g. enough money to live comfortably or the right job and so on) Then visualise having those things and how it will make you feel. This will help your mind fo us on these things and enable you to achieve them. Don't worry to much about not doing yoga or visualisation right. Just remember there is no right or wrong, if you're doing it then it is right. Just 5-10 mins a day will help you build up the habit of having "me" time. You can increase the amount of time later if you want. Do what makes you happy! You are all you've got so look after yourself! ❤🥰

Amazing Ways to Turn Failure Into Triumph

Amazing ways to turn failure into triumph!   As I stand in this pit of despair having fallen a long way, a few thoughts come to mind: ·         Everyone fails at some point. ·         Fail doesn’t mean the end. It means First Attempt. ·         Tesla.   Don’t Give Up Be More like Musk Elon Musk had the vision to develop the first all-electric car.   Starting with the roadster he had to overcome insurmountable hurdles.   Such as the company losing money, low sales, having to build their parts on-site rather than rely on suppliers.   Despite all the challenges, he found ways around them.     His approach was different from that of any other car maker (such as General Motors) build the car he envisaged first, then work on the problems as they arose.   There was always a lot of staff turnover from all levels in the compan...

5 best things to reduce anxiety

Do you ever worry? Does anxiety seem to hold you back? Well this article is here to help.  Now sit back and we'll get started with 5 things you can do take control back.  Our brains are wired to keep us safe.  Sometimes these mechanisms designed to keep us from harm when we were living in caves, fighting off wild animals can worry us for little reason.   When we start to worry about something our brain goes into what we call fight or flight mode.  In other words it prepares us to fight off an attacker or flee.  Whether there is a physical threat or an imagined one, the brain cannot tell the difference.  The brain diverts blood flow from non-essential organs to ones that will help while we prepare to flee.  So you might experience difficulty in thinking clearly and feeling nauseas.  20 Second breath hold When this happens we cannot think straight.  At this point holding your breath for 20 seconds can help to clear your mind.  Tr...

The battle within - thought or emotion

What you will find in this article: The importance of categorising thoughts  (Is it a thought or emotion?)  Is it a burglar or simply a cat? Focusing inwards you may miss what is going on.  You are not alone.  A difficult day - a feeling followed by a negative thought.  It is not what happens to us that matters but how we deal with it.  My first thought was "I can't do this." "I am rubbish."   Then the feeling of butterflies in my stomach.  Normally I would rumourate, my thoughts and mood would deteriorate.   However this time after my CBT session I tried to slow my breathing, so held my breath for 20 seconds.  This redirected blood flow back to my brain so I could think clearly.   In fight or flight mode we are unable to think clearly as our blood supply to the brain is reduced.  It is re-directed towards the arms and legs, so we can get ready to fight or run.   Is it a thought?  Identifying if my...
